soon supplemented by dough shaping equipment, high
precision dough dividers, conical rounders and swing tray
proofers. At the end of the 1890s, the production line
was complete. WP, formerly just a specialist for mixing
equipment, now offered the entire range of bakery ma-
chines and equipment.
The dynamic development was slowed down at the
beginning of World War I. Until the 1950s, WP’s business
was characterized by economical ups and downs as well
as by significant innovations including ovens of steel
construction and the ZYKLOTHERM
®
heating system.
In 1953, the engineers at WP succeeded with a genuine
revolution in oven technology: They developed a novel
deck oven, the MATADOR
®
. Due to the enormous success
of this oven, the production facilities in Stuttgart were no

facility in Dinkelsbühl, Bavaria.
In 1881, they moved into the first building at the Pragstraße in Cannstatt.
